Cyclist dies after collision in Montreal North

A man who collided with a car as he drove an electric bicycle in the borough of Montreal North late Thursday has died of his injuries, Montreal police said on Friday.

Montreal police said they were informed of the collision on Henri-Bourassa Blvd. near Hébert St. around 11:50 p.m.

A preliminary investigation has established that the car, heading south on the Pie IX bridge, turned east onto Henri-Bourassa Blvd. and ran into the electric bicycle, which was heading west.

The 33-year-old driver of the car was not physically injured but was treated for shock at the scene. The cyclist has yet to be officially identified and the investigation is continuing.
