A 44-year-old man is expected to survive following what police say was an attempted murder Friday night in Lachine.
Montreal police are yet to arrest a suspect, but say the public shouldn’t be concerned.
The incident took place just before 11 p.m. on Louis Paré St. The man was struck by at least one bullet in his upper body.
The victim was initially in critical condition, but his life is no longer in danger. Montreal police have yet to talk to him, but will in the coming hours, a spokesperson said.
Police are present near the scene of the crime and investigators are reviewing camera footage and looking to talk to witnesses, the spokesperson said. “We have information now, but not information that allows us to proceed with arrests.”
Though a suspect is yet to be identified and arrested, the spokesperson said there was no major risk to the public. “I don’t think people need to worry.”
