The Montreal police have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough in mid-May.

The first suspect, 25, was arrested in St-Jérôme on Tuesday. He will soon be charged with first-degree murder at the Montreal courthouse.

The second suspect, 31, was arrested in Prince George, B.C., and will also be charged with first-degree murder. He will be repatriated to Montreal in the coming days.

In a news release issued Tuesday, the Montreal police said the investigation was carried out with the help of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Laval police department and the Sûreté du Québec, as well as the Vancouver and Victoria police departments.

The victim in the case was shot near the intersection of Parc Ave. and Legendre St. on May 14.

He was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. Witnesses had reported suspects fleeing the area in a car.

At the time, it was the 11th homicide in the city this year.
