Montreal police investigate stabbing in Lachine on Saturday morning

Montreal police say they’re investigating an assault with a weapon Saturday morning after a man was found in the Lachine borough with wounds to his upper body.

Police spokesperson Const. Caroline Chèvrefils says a 911 call was made shortly around 9:15 a.m. to report someone had been injured with a sharp object.

When officers arrived, the found the injured 30-year-old man on Camille St., near Richmond St. in Lachine.

“He was conscious and injured to the upper body, with a sharp object,” Chèvrefils said, adding the man was transported to hospital, where he is in critical condition.

“The circumstances surrounding this event are currently unknown,” Chèvrefils said.

Police have set up a permitter to protect the scene for investigators and crime scene technicians, she said, adding the investigation is continuing.
