Montreal police have located three of four people kidnapped from Old Montreal early Friday morning. Two women and one man, all in their 20s, were found Saturday afternoon, all in good health, police say. They would not report the location where they were found because the fourth person kidnapped is still being sought.

The investigation was transferred on Sunday to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) from the Montreal police department’s major crimes unit because the fourth victim was last seen was on a territory covered by the SQ, a spokesperson for the force said Sunday.

Montreal police said a 911 call was made at about 4 a.m. Friday morning to report a “conflict” near the intersection of de la Commune and St-Hubert Sts. Once on site, police officers received information leading them to believe four people had been kidnapped from the area.

According to reports in the French press, the four were kidnapped from the underground parking garage of an Old Port condo building. La Presse has reported that the fourth victim is cryptocurrency influencer Kevin Mirshahi, but the SQ would not confirm or deny this report. The newspaper also reported that a vehicle used in the kidnapping was later found in Laval in a burned-out state.
