Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez, was sporting a Trackhouse Racing cap, dark glasses and a short-sleeved shirt as he made his announcement.

“So to everybody there tonight, I look forward to seeing you all soon in Montreal and I always thank you for the love, thank you for the support and thank for all for the opportunity … And once again Montreal, once again, sorry, apologize and look forward to seeing you all soon.”

Pitbull was to perform Saturday evening at the Espace 67 amphitheatre in Parc Jean-Drapeau, in a show organized by evenko in collaboration with Bell during the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

Pitbull is known by many nicknames, including Mr. Worldwide and Mr. 305. He referred to himself using both those monikers in his post.

Mr. Worldwide is said to represent the widespread recognition of his music, while Mr. 305 refers to the area code of Miami, his hometown, and is intended as a tribute to the city that shaped his identity and career.
