Porter to offer direct flights between Montreal and Las Vegas

Here’s some news for those who want a destination hotter than our city in a heat wave or are looking to emulate Céline Dion’s trajectory: Porter Airlines will start offering direct flights between Montreal and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport this November.

Porter has heretofore offered flights between Montreal and Las Vegas with at least one connection at Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport en route.

Offered on Thursdays and Saturdays as of Nov. 2, the airline’s seasonal, direct flights will take about six hours.

“This is a new gateway to Nevada,” Aéroports de Montréal vice-president Karl Brochu said in a statement. “We are pleased to support Porter in expanding its Montreal service offering to meet the needs of a wide range of travellers.”

While the newly-announced flights will go through Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Porter is also a partner in the expansion of St-Hubert Airport on Montreal’s South Shore. Work on the new terminal is underway and due to be completed in 2025.
