The Montreal police seized eleven military-style weapons, a large quantity of meth and two kilograms of cocaine during a police operation carried out Wednesday in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Pointe-Claire and Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Police officers also seized 10,000 rounds of ammunition and arrested three men following an investigation of an alleged drug trafficking network.
“The three alleged accomplices are suspected of having belonged to a network that allegedly sold large quantities of drugs every week,” the Montreal police said in a statement on Thursday. “The (Montreal police) west narcotics section launched an investigation into the suspects after recently receiving information about them. Different techniques deployed by the team responsible for the investigation quickly made it possible to identify the locations used by the group.”
Members of two tactical intervention groups — one from the Sûreté du Québec and the other from the Montreal police — assisted in the arrests.
The suspects were scheduled to appear at the Montreal courthouse Thursday to face charges related to drugs and firearms possession.
