Longueuil police said they arrested three male suspects, ages 14, 15 and 16, after they were led on a high speed chase along Route 132 in the early hours of Friday.

The operation began at 3:50 a.m. when police investigated a report of a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner in a parking lot near St-Laurent St. W. and Place Charles-Le Moyne. Police said the vehicle appeared to be driving slowly and lingering around various cars parked in the lot.

As police approached the vehicle, it sped off, triggering a chase along Route 132. The pursuit was ended because the vehicle was travelling at high speed and being driven in a dangerous manner, police said.

Longueuil police were finally able to track down the vehicle — stopped and exhibiting accident damage — beneath an underpass on Roland-Therrien Blvd. Officers arrested the three suspects, all of whom are from Montreal and one of whom had been listed as a missing person.

Police also confiscated an electronic device they said could be linked to car theft. The three minors were released but could still face a criminal charge of fleeing police as well as multiple violations of the Quebec Highway Code.
