A 45-year-old man driving the other vehicle, an SUV, suffered minor injuries.

A preliminary investigation suggests the SUV was headed west on Gouin Blvd. and had turned left to head south on Sunnybrooke St. when it was struck by a car driven by the younger driver travelling eastbound on Gouin Blvd.

Investigators suspect the driver of the car lost control of his vehicle prior to the impact and speed may have played a role in the incident.

Police will examine local surveillance cameras and interview witnesses to better determine what led to the crash.
