Weekend traffic March 1-4, 2024: La Fontaine Tunnel partly closed overnight

The only major planned disruptions on Montreal-area highways this weekend will happen overnight.

Highway 25

The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will be closed southbound, between Sherbrooke St. and Île Charron, from 11 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. Entrances will start closing at 10:30 p.m. In addition, Souligny Ave. will be closed above the highway between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand Sts during this period. In case of inclement weather, work could be postponed to Saturday night. The northbound tunnel will remain open.

Highway 40

In Senneville, preparatory work related to the new Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge will require closing the westbound exit for Senneville Rd. from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

On the bridge itself, two lanes remain open toward Vaudreuil-Dorion and one lane toward Montreal at all times.

REM

Planned systems updates will mean service on the REM will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Shuttle buses will be running between all REM stations from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Saturday. For details, visit rem.info.
